Senior Management Team

Dr. Reimar Schlingensiepen has over 15 years experience in the biotechnology industry and joined JADO as a consultant in 2009. Since 2010 he is CEO of JADO. Dr Schlingensiepen studied medicine in Oxford, Paris and Goettingen. As a medical doctor he was responsible for the conduction of multicenter cancer studies at the Department of Oncology & Hematology, Goettingen University. In parallel he focused on antisense research in neurology and oncology at the Max Planck Institute in Goettingen. Since 1995 Dr. Schlingensiepen has been working in the biotechnological industry in different fields like product development, R&D, manufacturing and marketing.  As co-founder he worked as COO/CFO of Antisense Pharma, Regensburg. Since 2008 he works as a consultant, coach and interim manager for high tech companies in the area of biopharmaceutical development, med-tech, cosmoceuticals and regenerative energy.

Dr. Jennings has over 13 years experience in the commercial biotechnology industry. As a co-founder of JADO, Dr. Jennings led the company through its early start-up stages until August 2007. Recently he has become solely focused on spearheading the Company’s research and development efforts as Chief Scientific Officer. Previously, he gained industrial experience at Ribonetics GmbH and as Head of Cell Engineering at HepaVec AG (Berlin) and DeveloGen AG (Göttingen). As a trained biochemist he worked on liver carcinogenesis at the Institute of Toxicology, University of Mainz, Germany, before moving to the Max-Delbrück Center of Molecular Medicine (Berlin) to study tissue engineering. Dr. Jennings received his PhD from the University of York (UK).

Dr. Tobias Braxmeier has ten years experience in drug development. As COO he oversees JADO's project management and organisational processes and is responsible for the chemical sciences as well as for designing and executing JADO's intellectual property. In parallel, Dr. Braxmeier pursues his MBA studies at Henley Business School (UK). Prior to joining JADO in 2003, he was a Senior Scientist at NAD AG, a Munich-based spin-off from Bayer AG, where he was project manager in discovery and preclinical drug development of kinase inhibitors for neurodegenerative diseases. As member of the team delivering the first BBB-penetrating kinase inhibitor for treatment of Alzheimer's disease he contributed to a successful proof-of-concept study in a transgenic mouse model. Dr. Braxmeier holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Karlsruhe (1998) and conducted his postdoctoral studies at the University of Southampton (UK).

Ms. Kaestner has over 10 years’ management experience, of which the past 5 years have been spent in the financial sector of the biotechnology industry. At JADO, she is responsible for strategic financial management, financial controlling, corporate governance and investor relations. She joined JADO in October 2003 and has participated in four successful financing rounds. Prior to her appointment at JADO, she worked at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics and supported the directors in setting up the new institute in Dresden. Ms. Kaestner holds a degree in business administration and is currently completing her MBA studies at the Henley Business School (UK).
