Charl van Zyl

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. van Zyl brings to JADO 11 years of pharmaceutical experience in marketing, sales, business and alliance management, spanning across 7 geographies. He joins JADO from Novartis where he held the positions of Head of Marketing and Sales for Europe and prior to that Head of Global Marketing for Ophthalmics. From 1996-2004, Mr. van Zyl held leadership roles at Eli Lilly & Co. in South Africa, Japan, USA, Latin America and the EU, where he was responsible for income growth, structuring of sales and marketing capabilities, and strategic planning. Mr van Zyl possesses a strong track record in product launches and product life-cycle management as well as a strong aptitude in recruitment, development and management of personnel.

Dr. Gary Jennings

CSO and Co-Founder

Dr. Jennings has over 13 years experience in the commercial biotechnology industry. As a co-founder of JADO, Dr. Jennings led the company through its early start-up stages until August 2007. Recently he has become solely focused on spearheading the Company’s research and development efforts as Chief Scientific Officer. Previously, he gained industrial experience at Ribonetics GmbH and as Head of Cell Engineering at HepaVec AG (Berlin) and DeveloGen AG (Göttingen). As a trained biochemist he worked on liver carcinogenesis at the Institute of Toxicology, University of Mainz, Germany, before moving to the Max-Delbrück Center of Molecular Medicine (Berlin) to study tissue engineering. Dr. Jennings received his PhD from the University of York (UK).

Dr. Tobias Braxmeier

Head of Chemistry

Dr. Braxmeier joined JADO as Head of Chemistry in 2003 and is responsible for discovery and development of NCEs, which interact with membrane RAFTs. He also acts as the company's coordinator of patent activities. Prior to JADO, he was a senior scientist at NAD AG (Munich) where he was project manager in preclinical drug development of kinase inhibitors for Alzheimer's disease and gained experience in therapeutic proof-of-concept studies. Dr. Braxmeier holds a PhD from the University of Karlsruhe and conducted his postdoctorate studies at the University of Southampton (UK).
